About DAD UNION

Thank you for visiting “DAD UNION – Engineer Alliance”.

This site is dedicated to all IT engineers who, like I once did, “may not be a genius, but want to increase their market value and achieve a working style that suits them.”

By sharing the skills, career strategies, and lessons learned from over 20 years of on-site experience — including many failures — I hope to help raise your value as an engineer, even if just a little.

What You Can Gain from This Site

“Increasing your value as an engineer” is not just about learning new technologies.
At DAD UNION, we support your career through the following three pillars:

  • Practical Skills You Can Use Right Away:
From web development to infrastructure setup and work efficiency hacks, I openly share the knowledge and code that I’ve used in the field to achieve results.
  • Career Strategies for the Average Engineer:
I share approaches to career design, job changes, and freelancing — even if you’re not a genius — as well as perspectives required in roles like CTO and Technical Advisor.
  • Tips for a Sustainable Work Style:
Self-management to avoid burnout, ways of thinking to run projects solo, and time management techniques to enjoy a relaxing drink at home — all based on personal experience.

About the Author (The Person Behind the Site)

I’m a solo engineer with over 20 years of hands-on IT experience in the Tokyo/Kanagawa area.

I love IT knowledge, programming, and a cold drink after work.

There was a time when I admired genius engineers like superheroes, but I’m just an ordinary engineer. That’s exactly why I believe my path — built through steady effort and creativity — can serve as a real guide for others.

My Journey So Far

  • Training as a System Engineer at a Software Development Company (3 years):
As a fresh graduate, I knew nothing. Here, I built my foundation as an engineer and discovered the joy of solving client problems.
  • Became CTO at a Design & IT Startup (17 years):
By chance, I joined a startup and wore many hats — from coding to team building to business management. This was the start of my solo engineer career. As the technical lead, I experienced both the challenges and the rewards of growing a business through technology.
  • And Now:
Using my past experience, I work independently while also leading the launch of an IT department at a construction company as its head. I’m re-evaluating my way of working to seek a more flexible and fulfilling career — and still enjoying drinks at home today.

Why Do I Share Information?

Lately, I’ve been getting asked, “Will AI take our jobs?”
My answer is: “Before it does, just make AI your handy assistant or sidekick!”

Personally, I’ve spent 20 years battling countless “black screens” and countless “Why won’t it work?!” moments, taking many detours along the way (and still do).
This blog is a kind of strategy guide for future fellow engineers — packed with things I wish I had known earlier and discoveries that made me say, “Hey, this actually works!”

Whether you’re already an engineer, working in the IT industry, or just thinking of entering it, I hope this helps you become just a little bit smarter and makes your life a little easier than it was yesterday.
If my failures and experiences can save someone time or give them an “Aha!” moment — and if that gives them more time to enjoy a drink at home — there’s no greater joy for me.
