Getting to the Campground

We departed in three Jimnys. Since the road to the campground is narrow, large vehicles need to be careful. On the way, we stopped at MaxValu Hadano Shibusawa Store for groceries, which is about 10–15 minutes away by car. Cooking is a must at camp! We selected fresh ingredients and headed to the campground with excitement.

Camping at Takizawaen

Upon arrival, we rented two auto camp sections and set up. We parked the Jimnys and finally started camping.

Ajillo with Leek and Salami & Highball

Here’s the recipe for leek and salami ajillo, perfect with a highball:

  • Ajillo mix
  • Olive oil
  • Thick leek
  • Salami

A simple yet delicious dish of leeks and salami sautéed in olive oil.

Grilled Meat and Furano Draft Beer

The highlight of camping is definitely barbecue! We enjoyed it with Furano draft beer.

White Wine with a Sierra Cup

At dusk, I enjoyed a moment of elegance sipping white wine from a Sierra cup at the back of the Jimny.

The Charm of Takizawaen Campground

Takizawaen Campground Free Site Image

The greatest charm of this campground is its natural beauty and tranquility. The free site is located along a river and in a forest, offering an immersive experience in nature. However, facilities are a bit far, so plan your movements in advance.
If you want to enjoy the atmosphere, it might be good to ask if you can specify a location when booking. (They mentioned on the phone that location specification is generally not possible.)
It’s highly recommended for those who often stay indoors due to remote work. The fresh air and greenery will surely refresh your body and mind.
